Q: How does the FedEX Playoff golf pool work?

A: Here are the rules for our PGA FedExCup Playoff pools:

  • Picks are made for any/all of the FedExCup Playoff tournaments:

    • The St. Jude Championship

    • The BMW Championship

    • The TOUR Championship

  • For each tournament, pool members select six golfers (pick either by salary or tier). These six golfers make up their Player Roster for that tournament.

  • The goal is to be the member whose roster performs the best, cumulatively, as a team (based on your choice of winnings or strokes).

  • Any PGA Player who does not make the cut will be given the highest score of Round 3 and Round 4, respectively, and receive $0 in winnings.

  • Performance is tracked for each tournament individually, but also in aggregate for all 3 Championships.

Q: What is a tiered pick sheet?

A: We divide the PGA Tour players in the tournament field into six (6) tiers or flights, based on their current World Golf Ranking. Each pool member chooses one golfer from each of the six tiers.)

Q: As the commissioner, can I edit the tiers pick sheet?

A: No, this is not customizable

Q: What is a salary cap pick sheet?

A: Each golfer will have a salary assigned to them based on their current World Golf Ranking. Participants will be assigned a fixed salary cap they must stay under in order to create their 6-player roster.

Q: As the commissioner, can I edit the salary-cap pick sheet?

A: No, this is not customizable

Q: Am I able to drop worst picks within my pool?

A: Pool commissioners have the option to exclude everyone's worst golfer (or golfers) from the scoring system

Q: Is there a bonus I can add to my pool?

A: Pool commissioners can optionally create custom bonuses (i.e., subtracting strokes) for members picking golfers who in end up in top finishing positions.

Q: Is there an option to re-pick players?

A: Pools can be set up to allow golfers to be picked again in subsequent tournaments or to limit pool members to picking a golfer only once per season.

Q: How do I make picks in a tiered pick sheet?

A: If you choose the tier based pick sheet, your members will be asked to pick one player from each of six tiers (or flights). The flights are based on the World Golf Ranking of the PGA Players in the field for that tournament. For example, Tier #1 will be comprised mostly of players in the Top 10 in the world, Tier #2 of players between 11-20 in the world, etc.

Q: Can members make picks after the pick deadline has passed?

A: Once the pick deadline has passed, members are prevented from making or changing their picks. At that time, they'll also be able to see our detailed pick summary reports as well as everyone's specific picks.

Q: When is the standings/leaderboard updated?

A: The Leaderboard are updated for you automatically during the tournament as the PGA Players complete their rounds. We recommend using the Player Roster stroke total to determine your winner, which is the default sort order in the Leaderboard report. However, if you prefer to use the roster's cumulative money winnings or Fedex points, that data will be there for you and is a sorting option

Q: For the leaderboard, are scores by tournament or all together?

A: In addition to showing each tournament individually, we accumulate your standings across all tournaments. This allows you to determine winners for each tournament as well as a cumulative winner for the entire 2024 championship playoffs.

Q: What if my member picks a PGA player that misses the cut?

A: Even the top players in the world sometimes miss the cut at a Major. When your members pick a player that gets cut, that golfer will receive a score equal to the highest (worst) score of the day by a player that made the cut.

Q: How will the scoring for the TOUR Championship work?

A: Golfers will start the TOUR Championship with bonus strokes based on their position in the FedEx Cup Standings. The following bonus strokes will apply: 1st: -10, 2nd: -8, 3rd: -7, 4th: -6, 5th: -5, 6-10th: -4, 11-15th: -3, 16-20th: -2, 21-25th -1, 26-30: Even. In addition, the total prize pool is $60 million, roughly 4-8x times that of other tournaments.

Q: When is the deadline for making picks?

A: All picks must be entered before the first scheduled tee time of the tournament.

Q: Can I add a member's picks for them after the pick deadline?

A: Yes. To do so, follow these steps:
โ€‹
1. If they did not join yet, click the 'Add a Member' link under Commissioner Console --> Member Management.
2. Click the 'Member Pick Maintenance' link in the Commissioner Console.
3. Follow the instructions on screen.

Q: Can I change the pick deadline?

A: No, this is something that cannot be done

Q: Does RYP send weekly pick reminder to participants?

A: Your members can opt-in to weekly reminders sent by the RunYourPool service. The option is available at the top of their entries page.

By default, this option is turned off. We do not allow pool commissioners to turn this on for all participants, as that would increase the likelihood of emails from our email address being marked as spam.

Q: Can I see my pool standings and results from previous years?

A: Yes. Go to Reports --> Pool History
