Q: When will the pool reset for the 2024 season?
A: Pools will reset in May.

Q: Does it cost money to run this type of pool?
A: Yes, there is a fee to host your pool. You can view details on our pricing page here — be sure to use the down arrows to select the correct sport and format.

Q: What is the difference between group stage and knockout stage?
A: Here’s the breakdown:

  • Group Stage — 24 teams are divided into six groups of four. Each team plays a round-robin against the other three teams in its group. The top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-place teams, advance to the knockout stage.

  • Knockout Stage — The remaining 16 teams compete in a single-elimination bracket. Think of it like the NCAA Basketball tournament’s Sweet 16 format.

Q: Can I edit the points awarded per round?
A: Yes! Go to your commissioner console > pool settings > scoring settings.

Q: How is the group stage scored?
A: Members predict the finishing position of each team in their group. Points are awarded for each correct ranking. For example, if you assign 1 point per correct ranking, members could earn up to 24 points total (all 4 positions correct in each of 6 groups).

Q: How is the knockout stage scored?
A: Members pick all 15 games in the bracket after the group stage is completed, using the actual teams that qualify. Points are awarded for each correct pick.

Q: Is there a tie-breaker for the group stage?
A: No, any tie-breaking rules for the group stage will be up to the commissioner to decide.

Q: Is there a tie-breaker for the knockout stage?
A: Yes! Commissioners can enable a tie-breaker for the knockout rounds.

Q: How can I change my entry name in the reports?
A: Go to your entries page within the pool. Click on the appropriate pool membership, navigate to the Your Picks tab, and click the rename link next to the entry you’d like to change.

Q: When are standings and reports updated?
A: Reports and standings are generally updated within minutes after each game concludes. However, exact update timing cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the internet.

Q: How do I turn on group staging and assign points?
A: Go to your commissioner console > pool settings > scoring settings > toggle ON Include Group Staging. You can then assign the points per correct group ranking.
