What is an MLB 13-Run Pool?

  • Up to 30 members can join a pool

  • Each member is assigned a professional team

  • Each time the team plays, their runs are tracked

  • The goal is to be the first to have your team score every number from 0 to 13 runs

  • The leaderboard updates automatically after each game, so you never need to manually calculate standings

What does the leaderboard look like?

  • The leaderboard shows a grid with green cells for numbers that have been “closed out”

  • The number inside each cell shows how many times the team scored that specific run total

  • When a team closes all 14 numbers, the leaderboard will note the date of completion

  • You can continue playing to see who else finishes or restart the pool at any time (note: restarts require a new pool fee)

Is it difficult to assign teams to members?
No! You can:
✅ Automatically assign teams randomly
✅ Manually assign teams through the Commissioner Console → Assign MLB Teams

Why can I not add more than 30 members?
There are only 30 MLB teams, so you cannot have more members than teams.

How can I restart my pool mid-season?

  • Go to Reports → Leaderboard → Restart Pool

  • You can keep the same team assignments or change them before restarting

  • Note: Restarting the pool requires paying the pool fee again

What if I only have 10 people, and want each to have 3 teams?

  • Members will need to create 3 entries each in their Your Entries page

  • Or you, as commissioner, can create additional entries for them via Member Pick Maintenance

  • Team assignments can be managed in MLB Team Assignments

How do I exclude specific teams (like Oakland or CHW)?

  • Play with fewer than 30 members

  • Assign random teams, then manually adjust any undesirable teams using the down arrow to reassign

I want to add people as guests who don’t have RYP accounts. How?

  • Go to Your Picks → Create an Entry

  • Click the three dots and rename the entry with the guest’s name

  • Share the public leaderboard link so they can follow along

Why does it say I have to pay again to restart the pool?
Each restart requires paying the pool fee again.

What happens if I do not pay for the pool?
If payment is not made by the deadline, your pool and reports will be locked to you and your members.

How can I change my entry name?

  • Go to Your Picks within the pool

  • Click the rename link next to the entry you wish to edit

When does my pool start tracking runs?

  • Check your pool’s start date under Pool Info → Pool Settings

  • If scores are missing, resubmit your team assignments by going to Commissioner Console → MLB Team Assignments → Save Assignments

When are standings updated?
Standings typically update within minutes of each game ending. However, exact timing cannot be guaranteed due to internet and data delays.
