Here’s a concise summary for you:

Rules

  • Members claim squares on a grid.

  • Grid numbers are hidden until you reveal them or the tournament begins.

  • Unlike football squares, members keep their squares for EVERY game, starting with the round you select.

  • Winners are determined based on the last digit of both teams’ scores for each game.

  • Results are tracked automatically for each game, with a count of total wins.

Women’s Squares Pools

  • Not available (only women’s bracket pools are supported).

How members pick squares

  • Members log in and click to claim their square(s).

  • You can manually assign squares to “guests” without requiring them to create an account.

Number assignment on the X & Y axis

  • Can be custom-assigned or randomly assigned by the commissioner.

  • Change under: Commissioner Console > Grid Settings > Axis numbers.

Limits & settings

  • Limit maximum squares per member in Grid Settings.

  • Add multiple grids under Grid Management.

  • Change grid size (25/50/100 squares) if the grid is empty.

  • Set the tournament round the grid begins in under Grid Settings.

  • Lock and reveal axis numbers under Grid Management > Toggle ON show axis numbers and lock grid.

Cost

  • $19.95 per grid for up to 100 members.

Fundraising/Payments

  • RYP does not handle any money collection or payouts. Commissioners must collect funds separately, for example with PayPal.

  • You can use the “Track Fundraising Donations” toggle to mark payments for each square in the system.

Printing & sharing

  • You can print the grid after it is filled.

  • You can also share a public link.

Unfilled squares

  • If squares are left empty, there are no automatic settings for how to handle them — you’ll need to communicate your rule (e.g., “square to the right wins” or “no winner”) to members in advance.

Changing numbers after the tournament begins

  • You cannot change numbers on the grid after it’s locked. Unlike football, basketball scores generally distribute evenly, so number fairness is less of a concern.

Other highlights

  • Members can see the grid and picks live.

  • Guest entries are fully supported if you want to manage them manually.
