By default, confidence points are assigned from high to low — for example, 16 down to 1. In weeks with fewer games, the same scale is used, but adjusted accordingly. For instance, if there are 14 games, the points available will run from 16 down to 3.
However, Pool Commissioners have the option to reverse this order and have confidence points run from low to high (1 to 16), if preferred.
